LifeArt Holistic Counseling and Coaching for Families

Our parents are our first “loves”, and families are our “first group”. Our early experiences with our mother and father, our siblings and our extended families provide a platform for how we will feel about interactions with other people in the various arenas we function in, for the rest of our lives.

Parents and families have the goal of offering a safe and loving environment for their members to be able to grow into maturity and hopefully thrive, but most families encounter many struggles along the way. Often times abuse and neglect are experienced by one or more members of the family, due to situations of objective difficulty and lack, as well as due to the kinds of dynamics that have been present in our family systems for generations, whether we are aware of them, or not.

LifeArt counseling and coaching sessions, with all members of the family group, can be extremely helpful in helping the whole group learn new ways of interacting with each other.

If one or more member of your family is struggling or suffering, it is important to keep in mind that this is a signal that the whole family has problems that, if addressed holistically, can help not only the one(s) who are struggling, but all the other members as well.

Martha has specific training in family dynamics, and is particularly intuitive and insightful in helping family groups shift out of unhealthy interactions, into ones that are more loving, kind and nurturing for all. For the last several years she has also been working extensively with Family Constellations work, which has the specific goal of clarifying what may be causing disturbances within a family system, even throughout many generations, and how they can be shifted and cleared for the benefit of all.

Adoptions and other Non-traditional Family Situations

When a child is relinquished into adoption, is placed into foster care or entrusted to other family members, or is otherwise not raised by the biological parents, a special kind of understanding and awareness is required, for the child and its biological parents and for the designated caregivers.

Martha has a unique understanding of these situations, given her own experience of being relinquished into adoption at birth, having studied and trained to address the particular needs of all members of the adoption triad (child-biological parents – adoptive/fostering/designated parents and caregivers). Get in touch today to see if Martha’s approach can be of help to you and your family, while navigating the ups and downs of these often very complex and delicate situations.
